About Our Company
Keen on Green Disposal and Recycling is a local, Vancouver-based full-service junk removal company. Our company works to help customers get rid of their junk in a stress-free and environmentally-conscious way. We’ll tackle your job with great staff, speedy customer service, and lots of smiles.
Keen on Green Disposal & Recycling started off as a one truck, two man operation about 7 years ago. Our owner was challenged with helping his aging parents downsize from their home to an apartment. Not wanting to throw all their extra items away, he worked to find places that they could be recycled, donated or re-used. He was inspired to help others find homes for their beloved items, and to turn something as mundane as junk removal into an opportunity to do good in the community.
Fast forward to today, Keen on Green has now diverted thousands of pounds from the landfill through recycling, re-purposing and donation. We work with local businesses, charities, and individuals to do our best, one truck-load at a time.
About our Environmental Policy
- Work to improve our knowledge and education on the most environmentally friendly disposal practices, and new ways to re-use and recycle materials.
- Be a role model in the community and make connections with other sustainability and environmentally focused businesses and organizations.
- Carry our efforts through to our office by promoting carpooling/transit, electronic invoicing, electronic record keeping, in-office recycling programs and energy efficient technologies.
- Work with partners in the community to donate as many items and materials as possible to be re-used or re-purposed.
- Sort out any remaining materials to ensure that any recyclable materials (e.g. paper, plastic, metal, wood) avoid the landfill and are recycled.
